Scotch Plains Recreation Commission... ’The strategy is clear. Open space and recreational facilities are something that should not only be maintained, but also enhanced. This referendum gives us the ability to make that a reality.’
 
Scotch Plains Men’s Softball... ’The fields in Scotch Plains are recognized as being some of the best maintained in the county. However, as in all of our surrounding communities, there is a tremendous shortage of fields. It is nice to see the leadership of Scotch Plains offering our taxpayers the ability to dedicate funds for an opportunity so worthwhile.’
 
Senior Citizen Advisory Committee... ’It is important to preserve open space so that the improvement of recreational facilities and preservation of sites for future recreational development can continue. Citizens of all ages can enjoy the results today and for generations to come.’
 
Scotch Plains Fanwood Soccer Association... ’Recreational facilities for all activities are an essential component of a successful community. This November we have the opportunity to provide present and future residents of Scotch Plains the means to improve our existing recreational facilities as well as develope new ones. We believe that support for the Open Space Trust Fund will ensure that Scotch Plains can continue to be a community we can be proud of.’
 
Yvette Easley, Scotch Plains Women’s Softball League... ’As someone who is involved in many recreational activities through my children in parks and playgrounds and as Director of the Women’s Softball League, I fully support the passage of the Open Spce Referendum.’
 
Scotch Plains Fanwood Youth Baseball Association... ’A wise investment in the youth and future of Scotch Plains.’
 
Police Athletic League... ’The Police Athletic League strongly supports the efforts of the Council toward increasing and improving our available facilities through the Open Space Referendum. As our community continues to grow, so does the need to provide quality leisure time activities for all residents. Adding field space and facilities would go a long way in supporting the many people in all of the organizations who work hard day in and day out to achieve these goals.’
 
Jeanette Rotella, President, Scotch Plains Golden Agers... ’I have been assured that our seniors will benefit from the monies received from the referendum through much needed facilities and programming.’
 
Dom Lawrence, President, St. Bartholomew’s Oldtimers Softball League... ’St. Bartholomew’s Oldtimers Softball League has, over the years, utilized Township ball fields. We are in favor of the Open Space Referendum which will provide additional fields in the future.’
 
Township Council... ’Scotch Plains is the first town in Union County to have such a referendum. We are looking toward the future in the development of our recreation facilities. This effort has the full support of the entire Council.’
